While the museum and the walking trails between the museum, the seawall and the Miracle Pine are now open to the public, construction work towards and around the former roadside station is still ongoing, and the area is currently off-limit to the public. The "Kiseki no Ipponmatsu" bus stop along the JR Ofunato BRT bus line is located right in front of the Iwate Tsunami Memorial. Today it is part of the city of Miyako.
